A culinary journey in California

In California the food is always excellent

Sandrine lives in California and loves all aspects of food. The shopping, preparing, cooking, and consuming (of course!) of cuisine is her passion. When a French girl meets Californian products she’s well on her way to food heaven. Sandrine stops at nothing when it comes to food. Burgers, sushi and baked goods all seem so appetizing through her pictures. Let the sights (and smells) waft through your eyes.

While along the Central Coast of California she starts with a sampling of various Californian olive oils, using a fresh loaf of bread to soak them up. The region is known for its fine agriculture with many tasting opportunities in the region. When she discovered her very first hamburger in Lompoc she realized that California can be as delicious as France. This place claimed to have the best burgers in all of California, but, then again, what burger joint doesn’t make this claim?

A trip to the grocery store yields the produce for a dinner that includes roasted golden beets and leaves. Thanks to the perfect quality of Californian vegetables her French recipes can only get better. The green, red, yellow, and brown of the dinner plate made for an enticing meal. Another trip to the store means the ingredients necessary for a galette and rustic apple pie. Can you smell it through the picture? Almost…Sandrine puts her baker skills on full display, as both of the finished pastries looked like they came from a professional baker. The galette is flaky and had been infused with chocolate, while the apple pie had sprinkled oats on top of the perfectly golden apples. If only we could all try a bite… So if you visit California, make a stop at Sandrine’s house. Just follow the French scents!
