Italy from the eyes of a French neighbor

Italy from the eyes of a French neighbor

Once you get here, you won’t want to leave (that’s Paris, for you)

Sophie is from France but loves Italy, the subject of this distriKt. In Italy, everything you see looks that way for a reason. The beauty there doesn’t just happen by accident (other than the natural beauty, of course). As Sophie shows us, they have it all down to a science.

Each street in Italy has two faces. The first face is what you see on the surface. The second face is underlying, harder to see, and takes time in order to be able to absorb it all. A quick glance down a street might lead you to believe there are a couple of buildings on each side and there’s a tree in between them. In reality, that tree is a hill, and there aren’t only a couple of houses, there are several of them, each one built slightly higher than the next up the hill. Talk about an adventure…

In Italy, of course, there is always the question of food. Not if you will find good food, but what kind of food your heart (and stomach) are craving! Sophie went with pizza. My oh my, how delicious that pizza looks. The crust is perfectly thin, there isn’t too much cheese, one can only assume the sauce is exquisite, and the meat on top is thinly sliced to perfection…

You might say Italy is the essence of perfection. That is, unless you’re French…Alas, this distriKt is quite exquisite itself!
