Spend a day at Château la Coste in Provence, France
Wine is only the beginning
In this distriKt, Laura acts as our guide as she takes us inside the Château la Coste, a beautiful modern winery in Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade, France, in the region of Aix-en-Provence. The lands of the winery are just as integral to the experience as the wine itself. The Château la Coste wonderfully combines the ages-old French tradition of fine wine with dramatic contemporary architecture, creating a perfect fusion of old and new.
Laura does a great job of highlighting the various features of the Château la Coste. One needs to spend a god portion of the day here in order to take in everything the Château has to offer. And why wouldn’t you? This is beautiful Provence, after all!
Of course there is wine, but beynod that there is also a high-class restaurant, a coffee shop designed by the Japanese architect Tadao Ando (who designed other aspects of the Château as well), two small homes belonging to Jean Prouve, and several stylish art structures spread around the grounds.
The Provence winery will also one day feature a public library, to be located next to Jean Prouve’s homes. A walk around the winery will present you with the superb manicuring of all greenery, from grass to shrubs to trees and the walkways in between. Without exaggeration, Château la Coste is a destination to be discovered for anyone on a trip in the Provence region. Even for those who don’t like wine, who doesn’t like a quality meal in a gorgeous atmosphere? Good luck finding that person!
It is a winery full of viticulture, yes, but so much more. Thanks to Laura’s artistic photography, we can catch quite a nice glimpse.
