The truth about Trichy

The truth about Trichy

Colorful life and life full of colors in Trichy, India

Clémence brings us this colorful distriKt from Tiruchirappalli, India, as an international reporter. While she was in Trichy, the short name for Tiruchirappalli, she saw life the way a local does. She witnessed women making flower garlands for the temples, young kids in uniforms on their way to school, the famous Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, and more.

Although Trichy was rated as India’s third-cleanest city in 2016, we can still see drainage ditches full of garbage. The refuse adds its own color to this colorful place. From several vantage points Clémence found, we can see the speckling of bright pink, orange, red, yellow, and blue buildings throughout the cityscape.

Arguably the most colorful site in Tiruchirappalli is the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple on the island of Srirangam. It’s a hodge-podge of colors that create such a dynamic and unique work of art, it needs to be seen in order to be appreciated.
